Child-SafeTM & Child Protection

Making Backwell Karate a Child-Safe club

Child-SafeTM is a police-approved scheme and registered international charity which aims to encourage children and young people to participate in travel, sport, community groups and specific school programmes.

Backwell Karate works with Child-SafeTM, to create a safe environment where your child can learn Karate and continue to develop. All of our instructors have been DBS checked (previously known as a CRB check) and have attended at least one Child-SafeTM seminar.

We would welcome you to read our child protection policy. All new starters receive a copy as a matter of course when they come along for the first time.

Our Child Protection Officer is Bryan Gideon, who can be contacted by emailing childprotection@backwellkarate.org. Our Deputy Child Protection Officer is Tim Griffiths, who can be contacted by emailing timgriffiths@backwellkarate.org.
